However, this persistent golfer, challenging his inner Don Quixote, was not one to give in easily. The course fought hard over the first five holes, throwing my ball away with abandon on the turtleback greens that would make Donald Ross blush. One lovely evening, I decided to challenge this quest with a 9 hole adventure on the lush links of Eaglesnest Golf Course, easily the most challenging golf course in Goshen Ohio. While those times were a story in and of itself, it is not the main crux of this tale. That tag was arguably more enjoyable than tagging upon a time, a website where I may or may not hang out on too much, had a contest where you got to play golf at a fantastic course, get a bundle of amazing Edel clubs, and tee it up with It was a flurry of good times where I got to spend time with Dundee and there was even a prowling the grounds. A few moments later, the ball dropped, the chip in was achieved, and I got to tag to inform him the quest was over. After a few bounces, the ball started to roll end over end and caught the break, tracking towards the hole. I pulled the Edel SMS GW off the scruffy uphill lie, dropped the club onto the ball, and hit my spot on the high side of the hole, about halfway to the pin. After a scrubbed drive (editors note: this tale occurred prior to the Callaway Paraydym X driver being part of the bag), a lovely Cobra 4 hybrid into position A past the dogleg, and a full wedge to just off the green, the moment of climax was upon me. So clearly, with his love of risky living, as evidenced by his horseshoes approach, we each started a quest to see which of us could chip in first and a lucky THPer was able to win some Edel swag. One of the other intrepid experience goers, who may or may not have a proclivity to hurt himself during horseshoes, was also having a similar experience with the Edel wedges. So much so that I was scaring the hole with a chip in once or twice a round, if not more. It was not only on full swing performance that the club excelled, but around the greens. Over time, with that amazing experience behind me, the SMS GW I was given at that experience quickly became one of my favorite clubs for the season. Once upon a time, a website where I may or may not hang out on too much, had a contest where you got to play golf at a fantastic course, get a bundle of amazing Edel clubs, and tee it up with It was a flurry of good times where I got to spend time with Dundee and there was even a prowling the grounds. Guess how many birdies she has this year? 3.Īnd you know what, I would not trade any of it for anything. She has been a notoriously bad putter, guess who paid for 3 mani-pedi's this year, this guy. Now, this is not happening, we play for who buys lunch, and on course if there is about a 15 or so foot birdie putt I'll wager a mani-pedi for her. So this kid who likes to bet things like 'dad if you win, I'll buy you a coffee, if I win you have to pay for me to go to an F1 event in Mexico' that's fair right? And, she wants strokes. So, now she's better, still plays off the ladies tees, should be playing a mixed set (as should I), I got her a new driver - and she can nearly drive the green at our home course - about 3 or 4 holes a round. As she improved (and some here know this) we have been playing for something, Last year I had to pay for the Tats we got (remember the drunken posting in late 2021? I have played several rounds with my daughter this year, more than ever before (I think), and considering we both work full time, that's saying a lot.
